1. Mount Rose: Probably the easiest peak to climb in the basin but reaching the top of Mount Rose is well worth the effort with its dramatic 360 views of both Lake Tahoe and the city of Reno. The trailhead for Mount Rose starts just below 9,000 feet, and it’s 5.6 miles to the summit, a vertical rise of less than 2,000 feet.
